About this listing

Enjoy a peaceful and serene getaway as we welcome you to our home away from the cares and noise of the world.

We have a unique oasis with the most amazing sunsets all year set on a park-like olive grove offering quiet vistas of rolling hills, Bushland Nature Reserves and the tranquil waters of Westernport Bay with expansive views to French island.

Walk around our unique 40-meter labyrinth to find your inner self. At the center of the labyrinth, rest on the bench and just admire the view of the bay and reflect on what you have found in your labyrinth journey.

Come discover your inner self at The Gurdies, Bass Coast.

The space

The tiny house offers guests a comfortable stay with its well-equipped kitchenette, hot showers, a waterless eco-friendly compost toilet, an indoor fireplace, and an outdoor seating.

There is a queen sized bed up in the loft and a sofa bed on the ground floor. It can sleep 2 adults (in the loft) and 1 child (on the couch) comfortably. You will need to climb a ladder to get to the loft.

The kitchenette has everything you need to cook your light meals with. A 2 burner gas stove, cookware, cooking utensils, cutlery, dishes & silverware, and even a car fridge.

Our bathroom facilities follow ecologically sustainable principles, including a waterless eco-friendly compost toilet, hand basin and shower (gas heated for hot showers). In Australia's severe climatic challenge of bush fires and drought, we help to save the environment by conserving water using an eco-friendly toilet. Wastes are broken down in the compost toilet via an aerobic decomposition process. It is a waterless system (no need to flush!), whereas a standard dual flush toilet would use up to 350L of water per week. An aeration fan helps in the decomposition process and minimises odours.

Guest access

Guests will have access to the tiny house, olive grove, lawns and gardens including the rustic tennis/badminton court, and the unique 40-meter labyrinth.

Other things to note

– There are other accommodations on this property which are also rented out, so expect some company from other guests as some areas are shared
– Tiny house is 20 meters away from the roadside fence and 45 meters away from the main house. There are olive trees between the tiny house and the main house. The main window and upstairs window has the view of the bay and farm land. The outdoor sitting area and fire pit has the perfect view especially during sunsets and is overlooking the whole property
– Accommodation is equipped with full Holland blinds for privacy on all windows facing any structure. We have also put extra privacy screens on the deck of the main house to respect the privacy of guests at all times
– The road is a country road; the nearest house is 300 meters away. Road is tar sealed and though no dust, it can generate road noise for some vehicles. It is heavily treed on both sides
– Please note that there has been an increase in traffic during school holidays and the road gives shortcut access from East Gippsland to Phillip Island and the Bass Coast
– There are no city lights. Normally we only hear cattle and the odd passing vehicle, tractor or stock truck
– This is a small working farm. Harvesting or field activities may be underway during different seasons
– Electrical vehicle charging is available at additional cost. Please refer to this link : https://tinyaway.com/electric-vehicle-charging/
– No wifi
– Bikes can be hired from us and transport can be arranged to and from local activities for a fee

Neighborhood

We are located in The Gurdies with views of the bay, French Island and rolling hillside and valley vistas. There is a local lookout nearby around 250 meters away for panoramic views over Western Port Bay, to Phillip Island, French Island sweeping out to the Mornington Peninsula, and the distant lights of the city of Melbourne.

The Bass Coast and Western and Southern Gippsland’s regions offer a fantastic variety of scenic experiences and vistas, great food and wines, amazing antique stores for browsing and many artisan food producers.

All the locals are ready to welcome you. The rural producers are ever so willing to offer you their fine provenance including award-winning olive oils, olive products, fine wines and fresh baked pastries and breads.

A Bass Coast holiday is an escape to another world of fine food and fun, in a peaceful, wholesome environment.
