About this listing
If you love and appreciate the raw beauty of the Australian landscape, relish the opportunity to unwind in natural surroundings, breathe in the clear mountain air and awaken your senses with the sounds of the trickling water of the river and the breeze through the eucalyptus forest, this is the place for you.
When we say we want our guests to relax, we mean it. You will find no wi-fi, internet or mobile phone reception here. Come fully prepared to Disconnect and Recharge!
Piccolino is a self-catered, private retreat, allowing our guests to experience the seclusion and ruggedness of the Aussie bush in comfort. Our tiny house has a small footprint on the environment, designed for minimal impact on the surrounding wilderness.
Piccolino comes with a fully equipped kitchen, perfect for cooking your own meals, or feel free to use the outdoor barbecue facility provided. Alternatively, there are opportunities to sample the local dining options a short drive away.
Our internal bathroom facilities follow ecologically sustainable principles, including a composting toilet, hand basin and shower (gas heated for hot showers), all utilising tank water. We only use organic soaps, shampoos and conditioners to protect our environment. If you're using your own soap, shampoo, tooth paste, we ask that you bring biodegradable ones as well so that the greywater runoff does not pollute the environment.
To maximise your comfort, we draw power generated from the grid, so you have peace of mind that you’ll stay warm and snug in those crisp temperatures outside, and cool in summer.
A fire pit is provided for your enjoyment; highly recommended each afternoon when the sun blazes red against the escarpment, with a favourite beverage in hand and a platter of cheese nearby. Feel free to use any fallen branches around the property for firewood, or bring your own.
It's a perfect place for Nature lovers as there's a river that runs just metres away from the tiny house. Explore the river and its pebble crossings, enjoy a picnic by the river, and keep your eyes peeled for wombat burrows and water dragons along the river bank. If you’re lucky enough, you might see some of our resident kangaroos, wombats, wallabies, goannas, lyre birds, black cockatoos, king parrots, galahs and several species of small birds. We also have some beautiful mature chestnut trees, apple trees, fig trees and grape-vines are dotted around the property. If you're here when the fruit trees are in season, you’re welcome to collect some chestnuts, apples or figs when they’re just ripe for the picking.
We have more than 100 acres for you to explore.
There are several kilometres of bush tracks through the property just waiting for you to explore, on foot or, for the more adventurous, on mountain bike.
Please leave your car in the designated parking area. We ask that you do not trespass on our neighbours’ properties and ensure that you take note of the signs we have supplied to guide you.
Please stick to the tracks – we don’t want to have to send out a search party for you! Take a copy of the map provided with you, and plenty of water.
