Neighborhood
St. Albans is a very sleepy and tiny historic village. If you're a history buff, you'd enjoy the architecture of the Settlers Arms. Established in 1836, it is built from convict-hewn sandstone. A two-storey sandstone pub, full of historic charm, just alongside the Mcdonald River. They are open every day for lunch, and serve dinners Thursday to Sunday..
There are no shops in St Albans town. The closest shop is at Wisemans Ferry (22 km, 50 mins drive), so you will need to come stocked with all that you need during your stay.
We are surrounded by incredible walking tracks and National Parks. Please refer to the Guidebook for more information or contact us.
The Old Great North Road and The Convict Trail (20km, 30mins) – Your historical tour will not be complete without going to the Old Great North Road! Stop over here enroute to the Wisemans Ferry and marvel at the backbreaking
hard work and labour put in by the convicts to build this road. Only a portion of the original road is left undeveloped and relatively intact.
Hawkins Lookout (25km, 55 mins) – A scenic photo spot just 5 mins drive from the Wisemans Ferry. Catch the sunset here.
