Admiring the View
Story by Jono Le Grice
Tiny Nanook is just a short 2.5 hours drive from Sydney. It is a recommended getaway where we enjoyed the stunning views of the Blue Mountains. Admiring the view is the key to this getaway. This is the perfect place to unwind, relax and be surrounded by nature. Best of all, enjoy a campfire under the stars.
We love sitting out on the tiny house deck, enjoying the view and seeing kangaroos hopping around the property. This is simply a wildlife sanctuary privately for us and us only.
Our favorite activity on this Tiny Away staycation is to do nothing and enjoy nature. The most we would do is to read a magazine or book during the stay.
After doing a bit of research, my partner and I had found this gorgeous looking waterfall with a little rock pool at the bottom. Rather secluded and off the beaten track it looked like the perfect place to spend an afternoon. The towels were packed and we hit the road! We parked up and undertook the walking track. Sneakers on with water bottles and cameras in hands I felt like a young Bear Grylls. After about 15 minutes of steep descent, the trees opened up upon this gorgeous looking waterfall. Dumping our bags we quickly stripped down to our swimmers. After about 0.5 seconds of touching the water with my feet I jumped up and quickly retreated to dry land. My girlfriend on the other hand was less of a wimp and made it further in. It was cold to say the absolute least. Perhaps picking a day where the sun is in full force would’ve been a more wise choice. Nonetheless, we hung out there for the rest of the day admiring the view and relaxing!
