The G.O.A.T of Tiny Homes

Story by Jarrod Andrews

I self-proclaimed it the G.O.A.T of tiny homes because the home is situated on a working goat farm! The location of the tiny home is situated on a beautiful grassy hill with stunning views of rolling green farmland and a dam right behind you which adds to the night time sound track of frogs singing at night…. Very cool. Monegeetta is located around 1 hour from the city but you would think it was much farther out as it seems very rural. With a little fire place to keep you warm inside on cold days and nights and a loft bed for extra space downstairs plus the most important part for me it was doggo friendly! There is so much so see and do within 30min drive in all directions and after watching the sunrise from the little deck out front, a small walk for the dog to say hello to the goats we headed off to explore the region.

Things We Did

Weekend at Riddells Creek Farmers Market

Riddells Creek VIC 3431, Australia

Just a short 10-min drive into town, we were in luck as the farmers’ market was on this weekend so we went for a look. We were greeted by some girl scouts at the entrance and they were selling dog treats for only $2.50 a bag… Perfect! (great idea actually)

Walking around you will find what you would expect from a farmers’ market like eggs, honey, olive oil, flowers and plenty of food and coffee to choose from. I found myself a nice freshly made drought and my partner bought herself some cider for later. On the main street, there were loads of geese which was pretty random haha.

Mount Macedon Stroll

Next stop it was time for lunch so we headed to Woodend and to the Holgate Brewhouse which is beer heaven. They have so many different beers on tap in their old historic building that I couldn’t possible try them all. It was surprising to see such a range of different types of beers and some very interesting flavors as well. They seem to have some fun with the brewing process and experimenting with different flavors as well. I really enjoyed the Aussie XPA and a grabbed a gift pack as I left which had a selection of all different beers in it.

Trentham Falls & Trentham

The next day, we headed home via Trentham to check out one of Victoria’s largest single drop waterfalls, Trentham Falls. With a car park at the top and easy stroll down, it is pretty accessible to any fitness level. Since it rained, it was flowing really well when we arrived. After some photos of the fall, we headed into town and found a really and I mean really cool outdoor space (also dog friendly) called Twinkle Town. With a cool old air stream caravan on an outdoor setting with astro turf and loads of cool colors and art, it would be a pretty epic little spot for some selfies if that’s something your into and the food was pretty good as well.
