Stay at Misty Mountain Retreat

Tropical North Queensland is a whole world of its own. From abundant wildlife to beautiful landscapes, local cuisine, interesting history, and more, there’s something for everyone.

We stayed at Misty Mountain Retreat for two nights, filling our days with all sorts of activities. A 5‑minute drive away is Lake Eacham – a local favourite to cool off in refreshing water or take a walk around the lake’s 3 km circuit. Two freshwater crocodiles call this lake home. Swimming here is safe, but it’s a vivid reminder of how prominent wildlife is in this corner of the world. 

Overall, Misty Mountain Retreat was a peaceful, perfectly located spot for our two‑day stay. From nature, to arts & culture, and yummy food and drink – we were spoilt for choice.
