Graham and Jan's Tiny Balloon House is located on our 20-acre farm just 7km from Canowindra village on a tarred road in the beautiful Central West of NSW. The house overlooks sheep, canola and wheat paddocks with sweeping views towards Mt Canobolas in the East. Every season takes on a different mood. Graham and Jan are amazing hosts that have quite the garden behind the tiny house. They welcomed me to go pick a few veggies to have for dinner, and the tiny house comes with a BBQ on the deck, perfect for making dinner outside while the cooler air comes in and the sun begins to set.
First hot air balloon ride I've been on but certainly not my last! We went up to 450 feet in the air just in time to watch the sunrise and had an amazing 45-minute flight over Canowindra and all of its farmland. After the flight, you get to help pack up the balloon and see how big it really is! We all had a great brekky and a glass of bubbles afterwards and learn more about the history of ballooning.
A quick drive to the neighbouring town and well worth it! The gardens are stunning and properly replicate those found in Japan by a well-known garden designer that flew over to Australia. Following the winding paths along and sit at one of the benches throughout the property to take it all in. The gardens are like stepping into a fairytale book with trees, plants, waterfalls and ducks floating in the ponds.
